CONVERSATION

W1: I think I have to do something with my hair.

-hair : any of the fine threadlike strands growing from the skin of humans, mammals, and some other animals.

W2: Again? I remember you got a perm last month.

-Again : returning to a previous position or condition.
-remember : have in or be able to bring to one's mind an awareness of (someone or something that one has seen, known, or experienced in the past).
-perm : a hairstyle produced by setting the hair in waves or curls and then treating it with chemicals so that the style lasts for several months.

W1: I know. But see? It looks ugly already.

-ugly : unpleasant or repulsive, especially in appearance.
-already : before or by now or the time in question.

W2: Don’t you think you go to the beauty salon too often? 

-beauty salon : an establishment in which hairdressing, makeup, and similar cosmetic treatments are carried out professionally.
-often : frequently; many times.

W1: Yeah. But I can’t help it. My perm doesn’t last long.

-Yeah : nonstandard spelling of yes, representing informal pronunciation.
-last : continue to function well or to be in good condition for a considerable or specified length of time.
-long : a long interval or period.

W2: I guess your hair has been thinning.

-guess : estimate or suppose (something) without sufficient information to be sure of being correct.


-thin : make or become smaller in width or thickness.
