CONVERSATION
M: (Ryan’s mom is watching television in her room. Ryan opens the door and says.) Mom, are you cooking something?
-watch : look at or observe attentively, typically over a period of time.
-attentively : With attention; in an attentive manner; "he listened attentively"
-cook : prepare (food, a dish, or a meal) by combining and heating the ingredients in various ways.
W: Yes, chicken stew. Why?
-stew : a dish of meat and vegetables cooked slowly in liquid in a closed dish or pan.
M: I think it’s burning.
-burn : (of a fire) flame or glow while consuming a material such as coal or wood.
W: What? Oh, the smoke alarm went off.
-smoke alarm : a fire-protection device that automatically detects and gives a warning of the presence of smoke.

M: Oh, no. Mom, it’s the loudest noise I’ve ever heard.

W: I know. I need to open the windows first.
