Practice speaking with Steve Jobs speech #05

But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents’ savings were being spent on my college tuition.
-naively : in a way that shows a lack of experience, wisdom, or judgment.
-tuition : a sum of money charged for teaching or instruction by a school, college, or university.

After six months, I couldn’t see the value in it.
-value : the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.

I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out.
-figure something out : solve or discover the cause of a problem.

And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life.
-entire : with no part left out; whole.

So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK.
-drop out : a person who has abandoned a course of study or who has rejected conventional society to pursue an alternative lifestyle.
-work out : (of an equation) be capable of being solved.
