You can go anywhere you want on a whim.
W : (Roy and his granddaughter are talking.) Did you travel a lot when you were young?
-travel : make a journey, typically of some length or abroad.
M : I wanted to, but I couldn’t make time for it.
-make time : find an occasion when time is available to do something.
W : I heard that you’ve been to many places for work.
-been : past participle of be. : occur; take place.
M : I have. But if I could go back to your age, I would travel a lot on my own just for fun.
-on my own : unaccompanied by others; alone or unaided.
M : You can go anywhere you want on a whim. You can be independent. You don’t have to do a lot of planning.
-whim : a sudden desire or change of mind, especially one that is unusual or unexplained.
-independent : free from outside control; not depending on another's authority.
-planning : the process of making plans for something.
W : Wow! I’d love to do that myself.
-myself : I or me personally (used to emphasize the speaker).
